Rev. Malcolm Church Leader

Malcolm was born and raised in Leek. He was curate in the Bucknall Team serving at St Mary’s Bucknall. He became Curate in-charge, at St Johns in September 2019, and was licensed Vicar at St John’s in July 2020. Malcolm is married to Tina, they were married in 1993, he has a son George, a daughter Maddy and a Cavapoo Milly. He likes a laugh, walking, reading and food. And he is passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus. Malcolm’s vision for St. Johns is growing a community who walk through the highs and lows of life together. He believes Church is a family, 24/7 not a Sunday club who meet for an hour and a half once a week.

Rev. Rob Priest

Rob is currently an ordinand and will be curate in the Bucknall Team ministry based at St Johns. Rob is also Chaplain at Kingsland C of E Academy.  He is married to Sara and they have a miniature dachshund Hugo.  Rob loves walking with Hugo, gardening and taking photographs of God’s wonderful creation.  Rob really enjoys working with the young people and their parents and sharing God’s love with all in the community.

Joan Church Warden

Joan Church Warden

Joan was born and grew up in Burslem where she started to attend Sunday school at St John’s, it was here that she met and married Ted. In1960 the couple moved to Abbey Hulton they started to attend St John’s here in Abbey Hulton in 1984. Joan was licensed church warden in 2017 her late husband Ted passed away in 2014. Joan as two daughters one son, three granddaughters three grandsons and six great grandchildren. Joan enjoys gardening, reading and craft. Joan says “St John's as been a huge part of my life it is where l came to faith knowing Jesus, what a difference it makes in your life”.

Sean Assistant Warden

Sean Assistant Warden

Sean was born and bred on Abbey Hulton. He is married to Sarah and they have three children, Callum, Molly-Lou and Jack. Sean is the assistant warden for St John’s and also plays an active role in the outreach in our estate ministry. Sean is the caretaker at our Church School, Kingsland CofE Academy. In his spare time, Sean like to watch films, binge watch Netflix, He enjoys Crown Green bowls and he loves to cook and DIY.

Kim

Kim

Kim was born and raised in Packmoor. She is the Assistant Principal at Kingsland CE Academy and had worked in our local area for 11 years . She loves nature, photography, artwork and digital representation. She is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus and our faith through different digital medias. Psalm 9:1 is Kim’s favourite Psalm as she feels it is vital that  we share of God’s marvellous work through our everyday lives.’ 

Lynn Treasurer

Lynn Treasurer

Lynn was born and grew up in Abbey Hulton.  She first went to St John’s when she joined the ‘Sunday School’ at the age of 7 and has been part of the church family there ever since.  She was Licensed as Reader 10 years ago. She is married to Paul, has two sons and a grandson.  She enjoys reading, playing the piano, cooking, baking and eating the spoils! St John’s and the church family have been a huge part of her journey of faith, a safe place to explore and discover who Jesus is and what a difference he can and does make in her life.  

Jo Outreach

Jo Outreach

Jo was born and raised in Bentilee moving to Hanley then back to Bucknall aged 10. Over the years Jo as worshiped at St Stephens, St Mary's and now at St Johns in Abbey Hulton. She as two children Kayleigh and Callum, she is also a Nannie to Tyler, Roxie & Dexter. She was confirmed here at St Johns when she was 14 i, Jo affirmed her Faith at St Johns in July 2019. Jo grew up hearing about God, however her Christian journey truly began in 2019 Jo says “faith is my everything, I love Jesus with all that I am”. Jo is a member of the LLT (Local Leadership Team) and involved in Estate ministry on Abbey Hulton which she says, gives me so much joy sharing the good news of Jesus. God has definitely blessed her with the Gift to share as talking about Jesus is my happy place.
